Solving Label Printing Problems
This Troubleshooting Guide provides possible solutions and answers queries relating to typical label printing problems when printing labels via the web.
All labels printed via the web are printed 2 labels per A4 page on your default laser printer.
The preferred browsers for viewing and printing labels are Internet Explorer 5.01 and above or Netscape 7.
Listed below are the typical label printing problems encountered:
1. Top Part of Second Label Prints on First Label
2. Bottom Part of Second Label Prints on Next Page
3. Printing Multiple Labels for Pallets
4. Reusing Self-Adhesive Labels
Click on the problem above to take you to the possible solution
IMPORTANT: Labels will sometimes print incomplete if the Print button on the label printing page is pressed before all the label details have appeared on the screen (ie. both barcodes and text). You must wait until all the label details are visible before printing the labels.
Chapter 2
Top Part of Second Label Prints on First Label
In some circumstances the top part of the second label prints on the first label (ie. the 2 labels do not print correctly on the one A4 page).
1) To solve this problem first try the following...
Select the View, Text Size option on your browser

Check the Text Size is set to Medium and if not
change the Text Size to
Medium
OR
If the Text Size is already set to Medium try
increasing the Text Size to
Larger
2) If the above does not solve the problem then try the
following...
Select the File, Page Setup... option on your
browser

If the Header field above is blank insert
the text &w&bPage &p of &P
into the contents of the Header
field
OR
Increase the size of the Top
margin and decrease the size of the Bottom
margin above
You can then reprint labels for existing connotes if a problem has occurred when printing the labels (see section - How to Reprint Labels).
IMPORTANT: Labels will sometimes print incomplete if the Print button on the label printing page is pressed before all the label details have appeared on the screen (ie. both barcodes and text). You must wait until all the label details are visible before printing the labels.
| In these circumstances... | Do the following... |
| The labels or barcodes NOW print incorrectly over two pages | |
| The labels or barcodes STILL do not print correctly |
Bottom Part of Second Label Prints on Next Page
In some circumstances the bottom part of the second label prints on the next page (ie. the 2 labels print incorrectly over two A4 pages).
1) To solve this problem first try the following...
Select the View, Text Size option on your browser

Check the Text Size is set to Medium and if not
change the Text Size to
Medium
OR
If the Text Size is already set to Medium try
decreasing the Text Size to
Smaller
2) If the above does not solve the problem then try the
following...
Select the File, Page Setup... option on your
browser

Delete (blank out) the contents of the Header
and Footer fields above
OR
Decrease the size of the Top
and Bottom margins above
You can then reprint labels for existing connotes if a problem has occurred when printing the labels (see section - How to Reprint Labels).
IMPORTANT: Labels will sometimes print incomplete if the Print button on the label printing page is pressed before all the label details have appeared on the screen (ie. both barcodes and text). You must wait until all the label details are visible before printing the labels.
| In these circumstances... | Do the following... |
| The labels or barcodes NOW print incorrectly on one page | |
| The labels or barcodes STILL do not print correctly |
Chapter 3
Printing Multiple Labels for Pallets
In some circumstances you may want to print more than one label per pallet (normally 5 labels are printed).
To print multiple labels do the following...
From the Print Labels screen on the appropriate Web
System:
Click on the Print button to print the first page of labels and to move
to the next page of labels
On the print dialogue screen increase
the Number of copies field to 5

5 copies of the same labels will then be printed on your
printer.
IMPORTANT: Labels will sometimes print incomplete if the Print button on the label printing page is pressed before all the label details have appeared on the screen (ie. both barcodes and text). You must wait until all the label details are visible before printing the labels.
Reusing Self-Adhesive Labels
In some circumstances the second self-adhesive label cannot be reused due to the page footer text being printed at the bottom of the second label.
To solve this problem do the following...
Select the File, Page Setup... option on your
browser

Delete (blank out) the contents of the Footer
field above
You can then reuse this self-adhesive label by turning the page upside down on your printer.
